Improved PDF export from Dashboards [PDF export won't cut off widget at page break]
If there are too many widgets on the Dashboard, the PDF exports cut off the widget at the page break. This makes the report difficult to read when a table or graph is cut off and on two separate pages.
Oh yea, this is really needed. RIght now we are spending up to an hour trying to clean up the formatting on these reports before sharing. To the point we are having to use screen captures which is really really kludgy. Anyone can easily create a pdf now, ask you export these into something like word (mainstream tool to edit for final clean up) and we can take it from there. We even got our marketing department onboard to help us nd we have full adobe editing capabilities and even they were struggling trying to work with the snapshot generated reports.
1. Certain dashboard widgets do not render properly in the PDF. When I am in a PDF reader (Adobe Acrobat Reader or Bluebeam Revu), I can click on the missing widget so some part of the structure is in the PDF but it does not render.
2. The size of the text on the dashboards is acceptable on a display screen. However, there are some situations where the text is reduced in the save as PDF.
3. Widgets are “cut off” in the PDF render of the dashboard
So I suggested if you can add more controls before saving it as pdf like for change the orientation of the page and If you can make the pdf file editable like I can move the windows around and enhance the report with Adobe acrobat.
The gadget has a limitation of expanding down, and I'm wondering was the benefit of the ‘’save as pdf’’ option if the pdf file did not show the all information inside gadget widow, also on the pdf file the information for one gadget split into two pages without repeating the header even for graphic info line gadget.
